St. Anne's Community College Killaloe, Co. Clare is a very modern co-educational Post-Primary school built in the late 1980's. The present school replaces St. Anne's Secondary School which was founded in the Clare town in 1945. The Community College at Killaloe has an enrolment of 480 students and a staff of 32. St. Anne's stands on a fifteen acre site in Clarisford, Killaloe, on lands that were part of the Church of Ireland Bishop's estate, when he lived in Killaloe. The site was purchased by a very dynamic Parents Council in 1978. The College is built on about seven acres of land, the remaining area has been developed for games and sports facilities. Nestled, as it is in a quiet rural setting, St. Anne's has the ideal location to offer to students, providing a suitable tranquil environment conducive to study and education. Far enough from the "hustle and bustle" of city life yet within twelve miles of any facility we may wish to avail of; this is surely an ideal location.
School Philosophy
Staff in St. Anne's Community College are very conscious of the responsibility they undertake when accepting students into the school, and are anxious to allow and encourage people to grow as individuals and to develop mutual respect for others. The College operates an open enrolment policy, and recognises each student's gifts and talents as of paramount importance, and college staff derive great pleasure and satisfaction in seeking students develop into mature, responsible young adults, capable of taking their place in society.

In fact the range of subjects on the Curriculum of St. Anne's Community College, is far more extensive than that offered by most Post-Primary Schools. The Community College has a very impressive academic record and boasts of past students in all walks of life and career options.
Career Guidance
St. Anne's Community College has a fully qualified Career Guidance teacher, who is available to assist students in the area of Career information, Application Procedures and subject Selection. The College also has a School Chaplain who is a full-time member of staff available to students, staff and parents.
Additional Features of Life at St. Anne's
Students participate in a wide variety of games: Handball, Basketball, Badminton, Camogie, Hurling, Gaelic Football, Soccer.
The College is associated with an excellent Athletics club in the town and through its help , students participate in a wide variety of track and field events.
Students are offered an opportunity to be introduced to Sailing, through a Sailing course organised each year.
Students are encouraged to participate in Debating and Artistic work. There is a special prize for each of these disciplines each year.
Students partake of a variety of college tours, day trips and outdoor pursuits.
There is a German School Exchange and a French School Exchange organised each year.
St. Anne's is a participant in the Commenius Project with schools from France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Norway and Poland.

Supervised study is organised in St. Anne's, every Monday - Friday, and on Saturday morning.

Junior Cycle
The Junior Cycle is of three years duration leading to the Junior Certificate Examination, at the end of the third year. The Curriculum for this examination is based on the Syllabus of the Department of Education and Science, and students of First, Second and Third year study the following subjects:

Business Studies French German Technical Graphics Wood Technology Engineering Art Home Economics Science Music It is school policy to offer to students the opportunity to study subjects of their choice. Happily in recent years it has been possible to satisfy the wishes of just over 99% of students in subject selection.
