Welcome to Corporate Services
The Corporate Services section of Clare VEC administers a wide range of services to the people of County Clare.
The aim of the section as set out in our vision statement is to deliver a professional and efficient client focused service through a process of teamwork and participation which is embraced by all staff working in the section. Corporate Services team is managed by Theresa Markham (Administrative Officer).
The section administers the third-level grant schemes on behalf of the Department of Education and Science for candidates attending both PLC and full-time third-level courses at undergraduate and post-graduate level. Corporate Services staff provide information sessions on the third-level grants application process on request to schools and other agencies in the county.
The processing of school transport applications for the eighteen post-primary schools in County Clare is administered by the section in conjunction with the Transport Liaison Officer (George O’Callaghan – CEO Clare VEC) and Bus Éireann.
The third-level grants and school transport office is open to the public from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 2.00pm to 5.00pm (Monday – Friday) to facilitate the processing of school transport and third-level grant applications and to deal with enquiries from the public.
Corporate Services in conjunction with the Youth Officer Seamus Bane organises the Clare VEC Student awards which acknowledge outstanding achievements by students at both Junior Certificate (Irish only) and Leaving Certificate level. The awards ceremony takes place in December of each year to students attending VEC schools in the county.
The Youth Club Grant Scheme administered by the section allocates funding to youth clubs and other community groups in County Clare. The application process for this scheme commences in October.
