  • In line with the overall provision and implementation of its policies and services, Clare V.E.C. undertakes to facilitate, encourage and support the ongoing professional training and development of its entire staff team.

County Clare Vocational Education Committee is made up of 20 members who meet each month except August, the venue for the meeting is rotated between the schools, centres and head office.

The Vocational Education Committee offers a broad educational service throughout County Clare.

The Scheme currently has in excess of 600 employees including permanent wholetime, pro rata contracts and part-time staff.

Included in this group of employees are teachers, administrative staff, caretaking and cleaning staff and instructors in outdoor pursuits.

From its Headoffice base at Station Road in Ennis, the following services are co-ordinated:-

Administration of Day Schools / Colleges / Centres – (Payroll and Accounts)
Gaelcholaiste an Chlair (Irish second level school)
Processing Third Level Grants / Scholarships and Post Leaving Cert Course grants
In-Service Training for staff
External Training Courses
Co-ordination of the School Transport Scheme for all Clare second level schools
St. Joseph's Training Centre (Senior Centre for Travellers)
Community Education (education for local communities)
Outdoor Education
Youth Club Grants scheme
Youthreach and V.T.O.S. administration
Adult Education
Support service for Clare Refugee Council
Education provision for Maoin Cheoil an Chláir (Clare Music Education Centre)
